1. Critical Failure and weapon hardness: Due to the nature of weapons in Mali-Raya on the result of a natural 1 on a d20 when making an attack roll a further d20 vs the hardness of the weapon. If the result is higher than the hardness of the weapon the weapon breaks and must be repaired. If the result is a 20 then the weapon shatters utterly and is destroyed.
For example, Bob is striking with a bone club and rolls a 1. Bone has a hardness of 5. Bob rolls a second d20 and the result is a 7. The bone club has broken, but may be repaired.
